We were down in the South East of England at the end of summer, start of Autumn and we were looking for some fun and exciting places to see during our time over the following few days. We always like to know where our customers have visited in the area so we asked where we should go.
A couple had mentioned about their great experience at Greensand Ridge Distillery in Tonbridge. They went onto say it was one of the most impressive distilleries they had been to in part due to their drive for sustainability. We read more into this attraction and found that it’s the UK’s first carbon neutral distillery. They have a number of initiatives that help the environment such as mitigating food waste by using it to make most of their spirits.
This was a place we had to visit.

We are big fans of gin and thought the ‘Gin Experience’ would be the perfect place to come and enjoy for a few hours. We booked ahead as this a very popular amenity, attractions visitors from all corners of the UK.
From the outset, Greensand Ridge is a more than memorable. Set in lush countryside within a converted Victorian coach house we were really taken aback by the impressive exterior and interior fittings.
We were really excited for the Gin Experience. Our host – Will, was really great. He greeted us when we arrived and was the source of a wealth of information throughout the tour. We found out more on the art of gin making which we were fascinated by. We then chose some botanicals which led us to producing our own signature gin. We were able to take this home too which was a real highlight on an already fantastic day out.
We were able to find the ethos of the distillery and they really stand for. Will mentioned in the process of making the gin, its more expensive for them due to running an electric still but for them it’s something they are okay with as sustaining the environment is the name of the game.

This is a great attraction to visit at any point in the year. We can’t recommend it enough. A fantastic place to explore, learn and grow too with its environmental passions.
